Which GTA 6 claims are false?
Four: a 2027 slip, a Switch 2 version, a disc in the box and an online mode at launch. Each is contradicted by first-party material, and each is still circulating.

Somebody who read three months ago that the boxed edition contains a disc will search for that claim, not for its retraction. All four are still in circulation, and all four have a first-party sentence behind them that ends the argument.
A claim is false in this narrow sense only when Rockstar or Take-Two has published something it cannot survive — not when a journalist doubts it, not when an analyst calls it unlikely, and not when enough time has passed. Everything short of that is unverified rather than false, and is on the rumour ledger instead.
Claims contradicted by first-party material

Note what none of those first-party statements does. Rockstar has not said there will never be an online mode, never a Switch 2 version, never a disc. It has described the product it is selling. The claims are debunked as stated — as confirmed facts about launch — and the underlying questions remain open and are graded as unknown on the pages they belong to.
Four registers that are constantly confused
The confusion between them is where most bad reporting about this game comes from. A date the publisher replaced is not a false claim; an unverified claim is not a debunked one. Only the first row below is an accusation — the other three are descriptions of what is on the record.

Release dates that were never real
Only one date claim is on this register, and it is worth being precise about why the others are not. The game has genuinely been delayed twice, and the dates dropped along the way are not false claims: they were accurate when Rockstar stated them and were then replaced by Rockstar.

Fabricated leaks and AI-generated footage
No supposed leak has been falsified. Calling one fake takes first-party material saying so, and on the one substantial case there is no such statement in either direction.

On 18 August 2026 a group calling itself CyberLeek posted material it claimed came from Grand Theft Auto VI, including footage and an image said to be the Leonida map. Rumoured. GameSpot, .
Calling the August 2026 material fake would be a guess wearing the costume of a correction. The 2022 breach is the opposite case: it was real, and Rockstar confirmed the intrusion within a day. What is known about both episodes is on the leaks page.
