When does GTA 6 come out?

Rockstar Games named the day on and has not moved it since. That is the strongest form of confirmation available before a game is on sale, and it is still not the same thing as a game on sale.
The answer has changed twice before. Both previous answers were also confirmed at the time, by the same publisher, in the same channel, and both were withdrawn. That is worth knowing before you plan anything around the third.
The date, and where it comes from

Two things separate that announcement from the two before it. The first is that it did not stay a blog post.

The second is that the company has kept saying it, in the one setting where saying it wrongly is expensive. There have been two quarterly restatements roughly three months apart, the later one made after pre-orders had already been taken.

A company expecting to move the day again does not build a full-year revenue forecast on it in front of investors. None of which is a guarantee. The position on the record is that the date is confirmed, that it has been moved twice before, and that both moves were announced by Rockstar directly rather than leaking out.
Anything giving a different day — a retailer placeholder, a countdown site working from an old window, a video promising inside knowledge — is not a competing announcement, because there has only ever been one announcement at a time.
Every date this game has publicly had
"GTA VI is a 2025 game" is still repeated in articles that were correct on the day they were written, which is why the internet disagrees with itself about a date nobody is hiding. All four windows are set out below, with the day each was announced and the day each was withdrawn.

Superseded is not the same as debunked as a matter of authorship — each of those windows was accurate when it was stated — but it is the same as debunked as a matter of standing. Rockstar named no production problem either time, and no first-party material has ever tied the delays to anything else.

A release date is a logistics fact rather than a description, so it is worth being precise about which questions it closes. It closes the machines.

It closes the money, and one week of the calendar in front of the day itself. The two editions cost $79.99 and $99.99, pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026, and every purchase made before 20 November 2026 carries the Vintage Vice City Pack whether it was a pre-order or not.

What it does not settle
The date covers two consoles and no computers, and it says nothing about the hour of the day. Neither of those has been announced, and each is set out below with the day the question opened and the thing that would close it.
Rockstar has not announced what time the game unlocks on 19 November 2026. Not known. Open since ; statements to cite: none. Would settle it: a store listing switching to a timed release, or a Newswire post in launch week. Absence of any first-party statement.
The day is fixed and has been restated in a regulatory filing. The hour the game becomes playable on that day has never been stated by anyone at Rockstar or Take-Two. Every countdown showing you hours to "unlock" has picked a time nobody announced, and it will be wrong by up to a day across most of the world. What is known about launch week is on unlock time and pre-load.

No PC version has been announced, so there is no PC date to be late. Rockstar has never named a storefront and never published a system requirement; every figure you have read about graphics cards was assembled by somebody reasoning backwards from a PlayStation 5. The precedent people reach for instead is real, and it is arithmetic with no authority behind it — it is set out in full on the PC page.

Nothing has been said about any other platform either, and nothing at all has been said about what is in the game on the day it arrives.
If it moves again
Both previous moves were announced by Rockstar directly rather than leaking out — the second on the same day as Take-Two's quarterly results. If there is a third, that is where it will appear first, and it will be added to the delay history rather than replacing what is there.
The next scheduled first-party appearance of any kind is the Extended Look on 27 August 2026, and the running count of days left is on the countdown.
